Civic organizations

Many nonprofit, charitable, and cultural institutions mission is to engage families in their community to communicate important messages that inspire action to support their cause.

We partner with these organizations to provide support, services and platforms to publish their content in the form of children’s books to communicate their message in a new way.

To ensure cultural relevancy, we offer language narration services to the institutions to help them meaningfully engage their communities.

Our goal is to continuously partner with our nonprofit partners to identify grants and corporate or private sponsorships to fund the distribution of the physical books to schools, zoo program attendees, and childcare centers in the community.

Association of Zoos and Aquariums

Association of Zoos and Aquariums

The AZA-accredited zoo and aquarium community identified ten SAFE (Saving Animals From Extinction) Signature Species on which to focus planning and conservation action. Experts from the AZA zoological community, non-profit conservation organizations, and government agencies, have gathered for strategic meetings to identify current population threats and the conservation actions needed to address them.

We partnered with AZA to create a collection of engaging picture books, each featuring one of the ten SAFE animals. Throughout this project, more than 40 individuals and organizations teamed up to help us write and image the books. These books are currently being used in print and digital formats to engage children, families, visitors around the world, and inspire them to play their role in conservation.

Denver Zoo

Denver Zoo

Denver Zoo believes animal conservation is as much about people as it is about wildlife. They save animals by inspiring and helping people through collaborative work in local communities.

We partnered with Denver Zoo to create eight books featuring an array of topics. They showcased their conservation efforts around the world, specific animals and exhibits at the zoo, Denver Zoo’s mission, and various jobs at the zoo. The funding to create these books have been almost as varied as the topics. Funding came in the form of grant partnerships, Unite GIK donations, and a large corporate sponsorship from Toyota.

National Aviary

National Aviary

The National Aviary is America’s only independent indoor nonprofit zoo dedicated exclusively to birds. A few of the Aviary’s goals that we aim to support are: to provide outstanding education programming for varied audiences; engender a sincere appreciation of nature and a respect for natural law; and instill a conservation ethic that teaches our immense responsibility as stewards of the planet.

We are partnering with the National Aviary to create a collection of books featuring Valentino, their two-toed sloth. In this educational and entertaining series, Valentino introduces children and their families to some of the 500+ birds that represent more than 150 species from around the world, many of which are threatened or endangered in the wild.

NEW Zoo

NEW Zoo

The Northeastern Wisconsin Zoo is committed to educating the community about the natural world by utilizing the unique resources available at their facility. It is their belief that with greater knowledge of the natural world comes a greater appreciation for it, and a greater understanding that each of us can make a difference.

We are partnering with NEW Zoo to inspire children and their families to take part in community conservation. By creating a book about the hand-raised Japanese macaques (snow monkeys) in their care, and the conservation efforts it takes to save the species, we will educate, entertain and inspire readers to be better stewards of the natural world. Funding for the project is through Unite donations and a local corporate grant.

Saint Louis Zoo

Saint Louis Zoo

Saint Louis Zoo is dedicated to the care and protection of our animals, the conservation of their species and the preservation of the wild places where they exist.

We worked with scientist, Dr. Blair Costelloe to publish a children’s book that tells the story of her observation of a Grevy’s Zebra being born in the wild.

Zebra Pen became the corporate sponsor to fund the distribution of over 1,000 printed books on-site during the Saint Louis Zoo’s annual Jungle Boogie event.
